A beta: a test build signed by Bukchair Ltd, for 14 days on each computer. It does not update itself, so a new version comes as a new download here. Install the same version on both computers.
What it needs
- 64-bit Windows. Mac support is not claimed.
- An administrator's approval to install. The app itself runs without administrator rights.
- The WebView2 runtime. Windows 11 has it, and otherwise the installer downloads it from Microsoft.
After installing
- Install BukDesk on each computer.
- On the other computer open pairing, then type its serial here.
- Compare the six-digit code on both screens and approve.
Where it works today
On a local network that Windows calls private or domain. On a public network BukDesk stays closed. Computers on different subnets or VLANs do not find each other, and connecting over the internet is not available yet.
For IT
The installer adds two inbound firewall rules, for BukDesk only, on private and domain networks: TCP 15180 and UDP 15181. It installs silently with /S. BukDesk has not yet been run on a real domain or under Group Policy.
